L100 - Plywood

Plywood with Resin finish is laminated onto foam

Plywood facing the concrete. Foam may have to be cut to accommodate the thickness of the Plywood.

Finish: delivers Class 2 finish

Time and Effort: Excellent.

Durability and Strength: Excellent. Plywood with Resin finish to strong and tough. Well known solution.

Drawbacks: Can only be applied to straight edges. Corner joints become and issue.

L100h - Plywood with PU Resin for joints.

Similar to the L100 but the joints are sealed with a PU glue bond. Able to handle angled plane to plane joint and some curves in the corners.

Finish: delivers class 2 for straight edges. Corners require sanding and correct application

Time and Effort: Excellent. But moving mould depends on the joints

Durability and Strength: Excellent. Only the joints are tricky. Joints can be repaired.

Drawbacks: More time required for sanding and sizing is tricky due to PU expansion. Unable to apply to curves or organic shapes.
Mould uses: 5-20 - depending on how many joints.

L200 - Polyurethane Coating.

Use: Industrial where finish is not too important and strength is required.

Polyurethane sprayed on. Uses about two coats of spray with some sanding.

Finish: Class 3 or below. Maybe clumpy or rough or thick. Blemishes and inconsistent thickness.

Time and Effort: Fair. Requires skill.

Durability and Strength: Good. Coat is open to UV and cracking if sufficient force is applied. Exactly sizing is difficult due to 'lumpy' application.

Drawbacks: Quality is dependent on the skill apply and amount of time. 2 layers will provide strength but finish is 'golf balled'

Polyurethan Finish

 

 

L250HF - Polyurethane Coating with extra sanding and application

More time prepping the foam for spray. Uses three coats of spray with sanding between each coat. Bubbles in the application are popped. Final QC is applied.

Finish: Class 2. Excellent

Time and Effort: Poor. Requires a lot of time and skill to deliver quality.

Light weight

Durability and Strength: Good. Coat is open to UV and cracking if sufficient force is applied. Not easy to be repaired due to cracking and brittle nature of the coating.
Mould uses: 10-20

Drawbacks: Has a matt finish "grainy". Costly due to labour spent.

Cost: $$$

 

L300 Polyurethan coating

 

L500MX - Proprietary Fiberglass composition Coating

Our top product. A combination of Fibreglass trademark combined with epoxy in house combination.

Requires sanding and 3 coats to finish.

Finish: Class 2. Excellent

Time and Effort: Very poor. Depending on the shape may require sheet fibreglass or strands

Light weight

Durability and Strength: Outstanding. Able to survive being dropped multiple story from a build. Easy to repair damage by layering
more resin.

 

Marine standard. Able to handle UV and corrosion. Does not crack and is not brittle.

Able to be cut up and modularize. So a single mould can be taken apart in pieces. Features can be affixed like handles or joint grooves for easy deployment.  Light enough to not use a Crain.

Able to handle curves and organic shapes.

Multiple reuses: > 25

Drawbacks: Costly.

Cost: $$$$$
